COLUMBIA, Md. -- CODEON Corporation, a leading designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art modulators, optical transponder components and modules for the fiber optic telecommunications industry, today announced the company has launched production of its 12.5 Gb/s Intensity Modulator. CODEON's 12.5 Gb/s Intensity Modulator is part of the expanding Mach-10TM product line, a family of high performance, superior-quality and stability 10+ Gb/s modulators. The 12.5 Gb/s Intensity Modulator was specifically designed for customers requiring greater bandwidth to implement FEC (forward error correction). Increased bandwidth to 12.5 GHz at 3 dB down is critical to effectively implement advanced encoding schemes such as Super FEC and Digital Wrapper (G.709).In making today's announcement, Robert Harvey, Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are expanding our product line to encompass a broad range of modulator and related transponder components as we evolve into a full transponder module company.
