BALTIMORE – NFOEC – Chorum Technologies is exhibiting at the 17th annual National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC 2001), hosted by Telcordia Technologies, on July 8-12 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore. Chorum Technologies is expanding its state-of-the-art product line with the debut of three new products at NFOEC:

  • - PolarCast(TM) BQ Series SL-100/200G Wideband Optical Slicer(TM) filter for multiplexing and demultiplexing 40 Gb per second optical signals in long-haul and metropolitan DWDM networks
    - PolarTune(TM) Dynamic Polarization Combiner (DPC) combines and attenuates four optical inputs on a single output fiber
    - PolarTune(TM) Dynamic Variable Attenuator (DVA) with 8 channels

Chorum Technologies is debuting two new subsystems, self-contained modules with electronics and optics in one convenient package:

  • - PolarShift(TM) Smart Add/Drop Module provides dynamic power splitting/broadcasting, fast optical add/drop switching and dynamic power regulating
    - PolarShift(TM) Smart Power Regulator Array integrates control electronics with a multi-channel DVA, optical taps and detectors

In addition, six Ph.Ds from Chorum Technologies are participating in the NFOEC Technical Program for Optical Transmission Components with two presentations:

  • - Liquid Crystal Optical Harmonic Gain Equalizer
    - Liquid Crystal Optical Signal Processors
