Trio Teams on UWDM 582390

COLUMBIA, Md. -- Essex Corporation (OTCBB: ESEX), Fiberspace, Inc.,(Woodland Hills, CA), and Opticalis, Inc., (Center Valley, PA) todayannounce they have completed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) to co-market their technologies: patent-pending hyperfine WDM from Essex, patented Gridlocker from Fiberspace, and patent-pending Super Wavelength Creator from Opticalis. An Essex and Fiberspace co-marketing agreement was announced earlier this year.The companies will synchronize their marketing efforts, and collaborate on joint presentations, integrated demonstrations, and co-authored technical papers. A live demonstration of all three technologies working together as an Ultra-Dense WDM (UWDM) system will occur at the National Fiber Optics Engineers Conference (NFOEC) in Dallas, Texas, September 16-18, 2002.UWDM is a next generation optical network that promises to enable more revenue-generating wavelengths per fiber without significant new capital expenditures. Hyperfine WDM technology is the enabling optical filter that transmits and receives closely spaced wavelengths. Gridlocker is a tunable DFB laser that generates the ultrastable wavelengths required for narrow channel spacings.
