BALTIMORE – NFOEC – RSoft, Inc. today previewed the new release of its FullWAVEsimulation software - Version 2.0 - at the National Fiber Optic EngineersConference (NFOEC) in Baltimore, Booth #715. Major upgrades includedispersion and non-linearity in both 2-D and 3-D, radial finite-differencetime-domain (FDTD), cavity mode calculations, and an enhanced photoniccrystal layout tool, which make it easier to run simulations on complexphotonic devices previously not possible with more traditional modelingtools. For the first time, RSoft will also offer an option for cluster computing. This feature enables users to handle large size simulations more quickly andcost effectively by allowing distribution of complex problems among multiplenodes in a network, increasing the speed and decreasing the per-nodecomputational resources required for these sophisticated calculations."FullWAVE is the most advanced and mature FDTD solution for photonicsapplications currently available," said Dr. Robert Scarmozzino, CTO andcofounder of RSoft. "These enhancements expand the possibilities forinvestigating new photonic devices."In a separate release:RSoft, Inc. today announced, at the National Fiber OpticEngineers Conference (NFOEC) in Baltimore, that it is previewing a majorupgrade - Version 5.0 - to its award-winning BeamPROP simulation and CADsoftware. With the company's new simulation region feature, photonic deviceand circuit designers will be able to break down their simulations into"zones" and apply different parameters and methods to each one, as needed.Another major addition to BeamPROP, Version 5.0, is the ability toarbitrarily orient the angle and end-faces of different objects. This leadsto greater accuracy and flexibility in mask layout using the tool.Other key features added to this latest version of BeamPROP include anenhanced facility for quick and easy generation of photonic band gapstructures, and new nonlinear capabilities for 3-D simulations. Attendees atNFOEC can visit Booth #715 for a demonstration of these new features.RSoft Inc.For more information on NFOEC, please visit the Light Reading NFOEC Site.
