We love seeing images of diverse, global cities, hence our running a Today's Snapshot section for user-submitted photos. However, Today's Snapshot is going on a brief hiatus… largely because there's been a bit of a lull in submissions. With our Snapshot Wrangler (as we affectionately called him) Rich Heap moving on from Future Cities
, Mary and I have decided it's best to focus energy elsewhere on the site, and give Today's Snapshots a bit of a break.
Hold your tears! Because, with that said, if you still love to see us post photos of a different city each day, here's how you can change our minds: Send photos of your city, or any city you've visited, to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once we have a good lot of them again, we'll revive the section!
In the meantime, though, we wanted to celebrate some of the submissions we've received over the past 14 months. What follows is a slideshow of 30 of our favorite photos from all over the globe, submitted for our Today's Snapshot section. Viewed together, this sampling of photos truly represents the diversity, as well as the commonalities, inherent in our global cities.
Before we send you off to click to your heart's desire, we want to give a special "Thank you!" to all of those who've shared their snapshots with us -- especially Mike Joseph and Pablo Valerio, who were incredibly generous in regularly sharing their fantastic photos with the Future Cities community.
We hope you enjoy this global tour and trip down memory lane (if you've been a regular visitor to Today's Snapshot). By the way, if you ever want to visit the full archive, just click here.
