Huawei Launches the F5G to Business Series Solutions to Provide Differentiated Competitiveness for ISPs

At the F5G Evolution, Unleashing Green Digital Productivity session of the Mobile World Congress 2023 (MWC 2023), Gu Yunbo, President of the Huawei Optical Business Enterprise Domain, delivered a keynote speech titled "F5G to Business: Grow Together with ISP Towards Enterprise Market". In his speech, Mr. Gu elaborated on Huawei's F5G to Business solutions developed based on ETSI's fifth generation fixed network (F5G) standards, and described Huawei's end-to-end partner support plan for helping global Internet service providers (ISPs) develop F5G to Business services.

Huawei Solutions Providing Differentiated Competitiveness for ISPs

ISPs build digital infrastructure for enterprises and are important drivers of enterprise digital transformation. Gu Yunbo said: "With 30 years of technical accumulation in the optical communications field, Huawei has developed a series of F5G to Business solutions, including FTTO, FTTR-SME, and DC OptiX, to provide differentiated competitiveness for ISPs."

In large and medium-sized enterprise campus network scenarios, the Huawei FTTO solution replaces copper cables with fibers, and replaces Ethernet with passive optical LAN (POL), bringing tremendous advantages in transmission media, network architecture, and O&M. In addition, the FTTO STAR tool suite empowers ISPs with end to end fiber to the office (FTTO) marketing and deployment capabilities. Global practices show that FTTO is widely recognized and suitable for ISP sales with fiber to the home (FTTH) experience.

In small-sized campus network scenarios, the Huawei FTTR-SME solution reuses the optical distribution network (ODN) of an ISP to extend fibers to each office room, achieving ubiquitous 2 Gbps coverage. The solution supports 32 Wi-Fi hotspots, 300 concurrent connections, and seamless roaming within 50 ms. In addition, Huawei provides end-to-end support from marketing to delivery to help ISPs succeed in the FTTR-SME business. By deploying the Huawei FTTR-SME solution based on live ODNs, ISPs can shift from selling connections to selling intelligent application services, thereby increasing the average revenue per user (ARPU) in the SME market.

In data center interconnection scenarios, the Huawei DC OptiX solution and flagship product OptiXtrans DC908 provide ultra-broadband, simplified, and intelligent all-optical connections between data centers. This solution de-skills the marketing and massive deployment of the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology, making it suitable for channel partners with only IT or IP experience.

Jointly Building a Prosperous F5G to Business Ecosystem

Gu Yunbo said, "To empower ISPs with F5G to Business capabilities, Huawei has launched professional certifications covering pre-sales solution, marketing, delivery, and O&M, and has developed the corresponding training courses and drills."

Huawei's partner system consists of sales partners, certification service partners, and solution integration partners. You can select a partner type and register with Huawei to grow in the F5G to Business market. For areas with ODNs, all three F5G to Business solutions are applicable. For areas without ODNs, the FTTO and DC OptiX solutions are applicable.

"F5G to Business has a market space worth 100 billion dollars. Huawei is always willing to help our partners build capabilities and grow together with them." At the end of his speech, Mr. Gu said, Huawei will continue working with all ISP partners to jointly develop F5G to Business, and take the lead in the era of digitalization.
